Blog Post 7!
Using Twitter these past weeks has been interesting. It's been really cool seeing my classmates tweets on what they've gotten out of this course so far and I love being able to see their retweets on information about educational technology. Since I am an avid Twitter, it's been hard keeping track of my EME account and remembering to tweet from it. I still don't think I would use Twitter in this setting past this course. Maybe I'll follow some education technology accounts on my actual account that I use daily but I think there needs to be a separation from entertainment and business.
I have made websites in the past for other classes and I am excited to make one for my hypothetical class that I teach. I think the skills that will be different from the other websites I make is that this will have to serve a purpose to inform. I think websites are an excellent way to communicate to your students, parents, and fellow teachers what your class has been up to and what you're planning for them in the following weeks. I'd like to keep mine simple, and easy to navigate so anybody of any online knowledge can find what they need.
I think Diigo has been my favorite thing that I've learned how to use in this course so far. I really like that I can highlight from any website and annotate it and share it with my classmates, friends, and in the future- my colleagues. I've found it interesting that I can use Diigo on almost any website. I go on YouTube a lot to watch my daily vloggers and I've noticed that Diigo gives me an option to capture the screen and annotate it and share it through Diigo. That will definitely come in handy later down the road.
