 Contrast

  • The contrast is good. The background is white and you can see the darker font in front of it easily. The blue links stand out against the lighter background and can be found quickly to access. They do not clash with the white background. 
Repetition
  • The same font is used throughout the web page. All the external links are blue and the same font, same with the tabs that guide you through the website: same color and font. 
Alignment
  • The simple alignment is found in the Quick Links, and also with the body of the post . Same with the tabs: they are aligned and are the same size so they match with each other. 
Proximity
  • The link, tabs, and body of the text under each tab are all grouped separately. You can find each separate element easily while being able to distinguish each element from each other.

Second Journal!

     As a student, MS Word has been the most used application in my career. Every paper that I have had to turn in for a class has been on done on Word. It's the program I'm most familiar with and the one that my teachers all approve of universally. I never even thought of using another application. Since the first grade, my elementary school took pride in teaching all their students how to become familiar with all the programs on their computers. In the class periods where we'd learn how to use Word, I would find myself practicing how to make brochures, flyers, and even invitations. I never really understood how to do more intricate things until I took the Computer Fluency course (CGS 2060) here at FSU. They went into more detail about each and every tab on the program. Personally, I see MS Word now solely as a way to write papers and create tests and quizzes. Blog Post 10!

I think I'll use surveys in my future as an educator to better learn where my students are at and how I can help them. In other words, to adjust my curriculum through a course evaluation. But I'd want to keep using it throughout the semester and year and not have it be just a one time thing. I really enjoy when my professors give surveys that aren't only the university mandated ones. A lot of the times you can tell when they actually care about improving their course and don't just do it because it's mandatory. I really enjoyed reading what my classmates plan on using surveys for in their future but most importantly if it even applies to them. One in particular mentioned that she didn't think making surveys didn't really apply to her and that she wouldn't do them because she plans on being a kindergarten teacher. First Day with EME 2040

Prior Experience with Technology              My prior experience with technology is primarily the use of my iPhone 6s, but I did have to take CGS 2060 here at FSU which is a computer fluency course that lets you become familiar with Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Word, Excel). I have a MacBook Pro so I'm pretty familiar with some of my applications on there (Spotify, MusicNote, iMovie, etc.). But my experience is pretty limited to what I have to learn to survive, for example my cellphone, skills I would need to pass a class, and learning how to use an application in order to complete a school project. As for educational technology, my experience is limited to what I was shown at FSU's Education department in the Sandbox.  What I Hope to Learn in this Course        I hope to become more fluent in educational technology and basically any technology that would give me that edge as a future educator/counselor/whatever ...
