ILP #1 "Participation"- Lynda.com Tutorial

For my first ILP, I decided to do the "Persuading Others" tutorial under the Business/Communication section. This is supposed to help those watching to hone in their persuading skills and how to use them in the workplace to their advantage. Dorie Clark wants to help the audience build credibility when meeting new people. It's a beginner level tutorial and it came with the option to upgrade your profile so you could get the exercise files and use them offline if wanted. I didn't because you had to pay extra past the free trial.

It was a very hands on experience, although not as much as I wanted. But then again it was a tutorial based on improving your people skills so the most effective practice would be to go out and actually meet new people. The tutorial gave us Chapter Quizzes after each section and it helped me remember what we just went through in the tutorial.

The tutorial also gave me the opportunity to take notes that line up with the time stamp when I took the note. There were a lot of ways I could save it.

This particular Lynda tutorial took me 45 minutes to complete after including the quizzes and the notes I took. It took me about 20 minutes to set up my free trial, and it was fairly easy to do. It took my a while to decide which tutorial I wanted to do because there were so many fun looking everyday ones. I liked how some of the user reviews included using Lynda tutorials to help improve their education past their college career. You can only learn so much in your major and Lynda gives you the opportunity to explore all kinds of tutorials. I liked the speaker Dorie Clark; they were very clear and seemed passionate about what they were talking about.
